Are you new to home schooling? Are you a seasoned home schooler? Are you not a home schooler at all, but maybe in need of extra resources for your child’s education? Wherever you may be on the education spectrum, Solid Rock Educators’ Books and Supplies is here to help you with all of your educational needs. Whether that need is for a full curriculum, learning manipulatives, or just some helpful information to get you started in the right direction, we are here for you! This section is full of helpful information and links to help you get started or find resources along the way. We will also post information of upcoming events in which you might be interested. If you do not find it here, feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. If you have some helpful information you would like to see added, please let us know that as well.

Solid Rock Books will be hosting an Intro to Homeschooling meeting on the 1st Monday of every month from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m./! There is a $20 fee per family to cover administrave costs which will include the info packet/book you will receive at the meeting. How do I register to home school in Rutherford County? Contact Debbie Smotherman with the Rutherford County Schools. She is the Attendance Administrative Assistant, and is a great resource for your home schooling questions. Can we still receive special education services for a home schooled child? In certain instances, your child may be eligible to receive special education services while he/she is being home schooled. For more information on special education services for home schooled students in Rutherford County, TN, please contact the Rutherford County Special Education Department at 615-893-5815 ext. 22035. You can also visit www.nathhan.com - a Christian, non-profit organization dedicated to providing encouragement and resources to families with special needs children who are home schooling.
 
Will my high school senior receive a diploma if he/she is home schooled? For high school seniors home schooling in Rutherford County, TN, you will not get a high school diploma from the Rutherford County Public School System. If you are enrolled in a satellite or online school, you need to contact that school to see what is issued after completing their program. Independent home school students should check with Adult Education at 615-904-3876 for GED testing. You may want to look into these options before starting your senior year, as the GED test can only be taken at 18 years or older (17 years under special circumstances).
