In certain instances, your child may be eligible to receive special education services while he/she is being home schooled. Will my high school senior receive a diploma if he/she is home schooled? For high school seniors home schooling in Rutherford County, TN, you will not get a high school diploma from the Rutherford County Public School System. If you are enrolled in a satellite or online school, you need to contact that school to see what is issued after completing their program. Independent home school students should check with Adult Education at 615-904-3876 for GED testing. You may want to look into these options before starting your senior year, as the GED test can only be taken at 18 years or older (17 years under special circumstances).
